CMS is currently hiring a formulation chemist. Someone who will be IN THE LAB formulating new products, as well as improving existing ones.

PLEASE HAVE EXPERIENCE IN FORMULATING CONSUMER-BASED PRODUCTS SUCH AS:

• Tablets
• Capsules
• Powders
• Gels
• Emulsions
• Topicals

etc.

• Formulation chemist is responsible for novel formulation development, product optimization, process development, process scale-up, tech transfer and production start-up for new ingestible dietary supplement / wellness products.
• Evaluates, researches, develops and implements new product formulations.
• Engages in practical application of developing formulas in lab environment.
• Evaluates, researches, develops and implements new methods and techniques to improve production.
• Prepares newly developed products for tech-transfer to partner scale-up facilities.
• Works to ensure successful development and pilot commercialization of new products, product improvement or cost reductions.
• Maintains inventories and archiving of experimental samples.
• Designs and conducts in-house stability studies, including product and package performance under various conditions.
• Leads, manages, and conducts scale up trials to validate formulas and processes.
• Implements continuous improvement of process development processes.
• Assists in the design and testing of new equipment and technologies for improved production efficiencies.
• Assists in designing and evaluating new assays for the characterization of drug product.
• Prepares standard operating procedures (SOP), batch production records (BPR) and technical reports to support the overall quality of products.
• Follows safety and environmental regulations.
• Works closely with Business Development personnel to effectively communicate client s needs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education: BS in chemistry, biology, or closely related subject

• Detail-oriented but comfortable working collaboratively in a team-based environment.
• Well versed in scientific and personal computer hardware and software applications.

• Proactive, plans ahead, anticipates challenges accomplishes what is expected and adds value to the job.
• Good working knowledge Environmental Health and Safety practices.
• Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of the organization.
• Ability to apply critical and creative thinking to; improving processes, meeting challenges and solving problems.
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Job requires standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs overhead.
