Job Description

We are seeking an early-career Associate Scientist with a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related life sciences disciplines. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on research experience, particularly in mammalian cell culture, in vitro pharmacology, and plate-based assays. This role requires someone who is independent, technically proficient, and capable of generating and analyzing dose-response data. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, emphasizing technical ability and research experience.

Responsibilities

+ Follow established experimental design and protocols to generate reproducible and reliable results with limited supervision.

+ Plan, conduct, analyze, and record experiments while providing interpretations of data.

+ Review scientific literature to identify and adapt experimental methods to the lab, making necessary modifications.

+ Develop and implement new protocols to address biological questions.

+ Engage in scientific discussions with coworkers and communicate data and interpretations to program teams.

+ Demonstrate proficiency in using standard laboratory equipment and major laboratory techniques.

+ Troubleshoot equipment and experimental challenges effectively.

+ Contribute to internal and external reports, papers, presentations, regulatory documents, and patent submissions.

+ Maintain best practices in Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) entry, data recording, safety, and compliance.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences disciplines.

+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in a biopharmaceutical working environment.

+ Proficiency in in vitro pharmacology, molecular biology, and mammalian cell cultures.

+

Experience with general molecular biology and cell-signaling analysis techniques, including immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry, RT-qPCR, immunoprecipitation, and ELISA.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Hands-on experience with in vivo pharmacology skills is beneficial.

+ Ability to independently design, implement, and analyze studies with proper controls.

+ Ability to generate reproducible, high-quality data.

+ Experience in both academic and industry research environments is valued.

Work Environment

The position is based in Thousand Oaks, CA, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday during standard business hours. No significant overtime or weekend work is expected. The role involves working primarily at the bench, emphasizing hands-on laboratory work and collaboration with a dynamic team. The work environment encourages scientific discussions and provides opportunities to contribute to various scientific outputs.

This is a Contract position based out of Thousand Oaks, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
