Process Development Senior Associate
Amgen is hiring a Process Development Senior Associate to support the Late‑Stage Synthetics and Commercial Drug Product team within the Drug Product Technologies department. The role focuses on developing clinical and scalable commercial formulations for Amgen’s synthetic assets and ensuring successful launch of innovative drug products.
Responsibilities- Gain practical experience and offer hands‑on expertise in formulation and process development for Amgen’s synthetic pipeline.
- Develop clinical and robust commercial formulations for a wide array of synthetic assets.
- Support both development and commercialization phases, ensuring delivery of cutting‑edge solutions for patients worldwide.
- Interface within the Drug Product Technologies department as a team member to support programs and initiatives.
- Contribute to the design, execution and completion of experimental studies and assist in analysis and interpretation of data.
- Utilize digital tools and emerging AI‑enabled solutions to improve experimental efficiency, data analysis, and scientific insight generation.
- Identify opportunities for automation and digital solutions to improve efficiency and reduce repetitive manual tasks.
- Contribute to process improvements, strategy development, and cross‑functional partnerships that promote consistent and efficient practices across late‑stage clinical and commercial synthetic programs.
- Organize and communicate information within the team to lead to the best possible formulations and processes.
- Basic Qualifications: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of scientific experience; or Associate’s degree with 4 years of scientific experience; or High school diploma/GED with 6 years of scientific experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical or Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemistry or Life Sciences related field.
- Understanding or willingness to learn typical unit operations for the manufacture of oral solid dosage forms (e.g., granulation, roller compaction, drying, milling, blending, compression, film coating).
- Basic understanding of physical/chemical stability of synthetic molecules and how process impacts product quality.
- Ability to design, execute, and interpret experimental results.
- Strong problem‑solving skills for formulation and characterization of parenteral and oral synthetic molecules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting scientific results in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative, team‑based settings.
- A proactive, curious, and innovative mindset with enthusiasm for applying digital solutions to scientific challenges.
Salary range (U.S.): $80,044.50 to $. Actual salary will depend on several factors including relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
