What you will do Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will. A Scientist at Amgen is responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing results, and interpreting data. They prepare technical reports, summaries, and protocols and present study results at team meetings. They also assist in maintaining lab equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to.

• Design and execute in vitro and ex vivo assays to evaluate siRNA delivery and function
• Develop human primary cell-based systems
• Support target validation and mechanism-of-action studies for siRNA therapeutics
• Collaborate with Delivery/chemistry teams, Translational and biomarker teams
• Establish and optimize Flow cytometry panels, qPCR / RNA-based readouts
• Contribute to IND-enabling studies and data packages

• Doctorate degree
• Master’s degree and 2 years scientific experience
• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years scientific experience

• Experience with siRNA / RNA therapeutics (delivery or functional assays)
• Erythroid biology and hematopoiesis
• Strong background in Flow cytometry (multi-color)
• Cell-based functional assays
• Familiarity with gene expression (qPCR, RNA assays), target engagement assays
• Experience working in cross-functional drug discovery teams
• Knowledge on Hemoglobinopathies, conjugated delivery systems, CRISPR or gene editing is a plus

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted.

Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
