Job Overview
The Electrician keeps equipment and facilities in compliance with regulatory standards and in good working order. Repairs, installations, and scheduled maintenance are performed on building utility systems, production utilities, lab spaces, office areas, building & utility monitoring systems, and more. Assignments may be moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in solving problems and making recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintains generators, VFDs, UPS systems and building/utility plant support equipment such as AHUs, chillers, boilers, hot water heaters, pumps, valves and other electrical equipment.
- Assists in the support/execution of site power outages and major switch gear maintenance events.
- Analyzes operation of systems, determines causes of problems or malfunctions, and takes corrective action as required.
- Assists with installation and repair of single and three‑phase motors (single & two‑speed).
- Runs conduit, pulls wiring to machinery, motors, and operating parts.
- Changes light bulbs and ballasts as needed.
- Communicates and works effectively in teams.
- Complies with departmental policy for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Troubleshoots electrical systems and understands voltages that might be present.
- Familiarizes with LOTO and maintains a clean and safe workplace.
- Performs any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
- High School diploma, state equivalent, or GED equivalent.
- 5+ years’ experience in the commercial electrical maintenance environment.
- Electrical and/or HVAC license (Journeymen License) required.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Team player who works well with others.
- 10+ years of related trade schooling or equivalent.
- Able to regularly lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Physically able to operate electric hand tools, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle.
- Can work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
- Able to work on ladders.
- Able to work on roofs of buildings – safely perform overhead work while standing on a ladder.
Onsite – Thousand Oaks, CA
Compensation$45 per hour + overtime compensation. Estimated annual salary: $93,600.00 USD.
