Refrigeration Technician - JLL What this job involves:
The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and equipment. This role ensures optimal performance of HVAC-R systems while maintaining safety standards and energy efficiency.
What your day-to-day will look like:- Installation and Maintenance Installs new refrigeration systems, components, and equipment according to specifications and blueprints. Performs routine preventive maintenance on refrigeration units, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related equipment. Conducts regular inspections to identify potential issues before they become critical failures.
- Troubleshooting and Repair Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems in refrigeration systems using testing equipment and diagnostic tools. Repairs or replaces defective components including compressors, motors, thermostats, switches, and control systems. Responds to emergency service calls to minimize downtime and prevent product loss.
- System Monitoring Monitors refrigeration system performance and adjusts settings to maintain proper temperatures and humidity levels. Tests systems for proper refrigerant charge levels and leak detection. Ensures compliance with environmental regulations regarding refrigerant handling and disposal.
- Documentation and Compliance Maintains accurate service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs. Ensures all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations including EPA certification requirements. Follows safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- EPA Section 608 certification (Universal preferred)
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration systems
- Valid US driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in confined spaces
- Technical certification or associate degree in HVAC-R
- Experience with building automation systems
- Welding and brazing certifications
- Knowledge of energy management systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with electrical and refrigeration testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation.

Work ShiftMonday to Thursday 11:30am to 10pm + Overtime based on business.
Salary/ Comp$36 - $43 per hour + Overtime compensation.
