Overview

Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences LP is a niche forensic engineering, environmental science, and remediation consulting firm that serves insurance and risk management clients across Canada. We are seeking a Spill Response Project Manager to join our remediation and emergency response team in Thunder Bay. The successful candidate will manage projects related to transportation, residential fuel oil, and commercial chemical spills, issuing scientific reports while focusing on site remediation and cost‑effective client closure.

Responsibilities
  • Emergency response activities including initial investigation, real‑time remedial planning, subcontractor management, cost control, field supervision, and documentation.
  • Prepare client and regulatory reports and liaise with regulators and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in client engagement and business development activities.
  • Make on‑field decisions with support from head office.

The primary project types involve transportation losses from diesel fuel and domestic/commercial fuel oil releases. The role requires travel and may involve periodic evening and weekend work, for which you will be compensated.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Science or Engineering (Environmental or Earth Sciences preferred) or a related diploma with applicable experience.
  • Minimum of five years of environmental field experience.
  • Experience in soil and groundwater remediation projects, including delineation, monitoring, and management.
  • Experience with invoicing, budgeting, and other aspects of project management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
  • Flexibility to work after hours and on weekends when required.
