Position: Environmental Data Technician Role

Join the Métis Nation of Ontario as an Environmental Technician, focusing on environmental monitoring and analysis that impacts the Métis community. Simultaneously manage fieldwork and community engagement efforts.

As an Environmental Technician, you will spearhead the collection and evaluation of crucial environmental data related to the industrial project. This position entails an 80/20 split between on-site monitoring and off-site data analysis.

Your role will also include reviewing and providing recommendations on operations, maintaining valuable community contacts, and planning engagement activities within the Métis community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and report environmental data

• Provide recommendations on ongoing operations and permits

• Plan and conduct surveys (aquatic, terrestrial, etc.)

• Assist with consultation meetings and community information sessions

• Maintain records of all environmental activities

Requirements:

• Diploma in relevant field or equivalent experience

• 1-3 years experience in environmental roles

• Outdoor fieldwork experience and relevant licenses

• Knowledge of traditional Métis land use and environmental issues

• Proficiency using field equipment
