As a member of the maintenance team, you will support skilled tradespeople in performing essential repair and renovation tasks. Your duties will also involve operating equipment, general building upkeep, and supervising inmate helpers effectively. This role is integral to maintaining a safe and functional facility environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Escort skilled tradespeople for maintenance tasks
• Perform general upkeep like changing light bulbs
• Operate pumps and kitchen equipment daily
• Clear snow and mow grass for groundskeeping
• Supervise inmate helpers and report their conduct
Requirements:
• Certification in a skilled trade recognized by Ontario
• Current First Aid and Heartsaver certificate
• Knowledge in maintenance tasks including painting and carpentry
• Ability to interpret blueprints and diagrams
• Familiarity with workplace safety standards and legislation
