Voltage Electrician

Position: High-Voltage Electrician
Join Valard Construction as a Journeyperson Electrician and support Hydro One’s 230kV substation upgrades in Thunder Bay, ON. This role focuses on electrical safety and effective construction practices.
As a vital team member, reporting to the Substation Construction Foreman, you will manage the installation of high-voltage equipment and perform structural tasks. Your responsibilities include high-voltage terminations, safety compliance, and interpreting complex electrical blueprints. This position involves 10-hour shifts, with a work rotation of 8 days on and 6 days off.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install medium and high-voltage equipment and supports

• Conduct terminations and grounding with precision

• Erect substation steel and build cable trays

• Handle cable installations and bus setups

• Maintain safety records and manage materials onsite
Requirements:

• 4+ years in construction firmly required

• Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification necessary

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• Proficient in reading electrical schematics

• Required personal tools and PPE for the job
