Journeyperson Welder; Greenstone

Job Summary

We are seeking a Journeyperson Welder to join our team. The Journeyperson Welder reports to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for providing repairs, overhauls, and new builds to mining‑related equipment. This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario on a rotational basis.

• Perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete overhauls on heavy mining equipment according to schedule.
• Make recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Complete job‑specific reports and paperwork.
• Maintain a robust awareness and attitude toward workplace health and safety, and follow all rules and legislation.

• Able to set up and operate Cooper Heating systems.
• Able to run post and preheat sessions for bucket component repair/replacement.
• Prior experience in an industrial setting; mine site experience is an asset.
• Experience in effective bucket armoring to reduce premature abrasion and wear.

• Full proficiency in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment.
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with Komatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment is an asset.
• Experience in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Primary site‑based work with a rotational schedule.

• Red Seal Journeyperson Welding certification.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick‑up point locations.
