Diesel Mechanic

Join Redpath as a Diesel Mechanic at the Musselwhite Project, located in Thunder Bay. This role involves preventive maintenance and repairs, focusing on diesel and hydraulic equipment in a remote setting.

The Diesel Mechanic position is crucial in maintaining operational efficiency. You will perform diagnostics, troubleshoot, and repair various underground mobile equipment. Key tasks include ensuring safety compliance, adjusting equipment, and training new employees to elevate team performance in a challenging underground work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic testing to identify and solve equipment issues

• Perform preventive maintenance on diesel and hydraulic systems

• Adjust and repair defective components or systems

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures

• Train and mentor apprentices and new team members

Requirements:

• Journeyman level qualification in mechanical trade preferred

• High School Diploma or equivalent needed

• 3 years’ experience in an underground mining environment preferred

• Strong ability to read and understand schematics

• Knowledge of hydraulics and diesel engine systems
