Traffic Control Technician

Take on a crucial role in Thunder Bay as a Traffic Control and Street Lighting Technician I. Ensure safe and efficient traffic systems through installation, maintenance, and direct supervision.

The City of Thunder Bay is seeking a full-time Traffic Control and Street Lighting Technician I in Ontario. This position requires a certified Journeyman Electrician or Journeyman Power Lineman qualification. Responsibilities include supervising crews, attending safety seminars, and repairing traffic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install new traffic control and street lighting systems

• Maintain and repair existing lighting equipment

• Supervise crew tasks when assigned

• Attend safety, traffic control, and electrical seminars

• Perform additional duties as required

Requirements:

• Certified Journeyman Electrician or Power Lineman Licence

• Valid Class “G” Ontario Drivers Licence

• Proven leadership skills and ability to instruct staff

• Courteous public interaction and communication skills

• Competency as defined by Occupational Health & Safety Act
