Journeyman Electrician at Hemlo Mining

Location: Marathon

Elevate your career as a Journeyman Electrician with Hemlo Mining Corp. in Northwestern Ontario. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing electrical systems for both underground and surface operations.

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will ensure safe and efficient electrical infrastructure supporting production across various operational areas. You’ll collaborate with multiple departments to minimize downtime while fostering a strong safety culture and adherence to regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems throughout the site

• Adhere to preventive maintenance plans for reliability

• Perform high-voltage switching and testing safely

• Troubleshoot control systems, including PLCs and VFDs

• Conduct inspections to ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements:

• Valid Electrical License (Construction & Maintenance 309A)

• Experience with high-voltage systems and mine hoisting

• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics

• Strong troubleshooting and safety-oriented mindset

• Physical capability for underground and confined spaces
