Job Description & How to Apply Below

Harmony Montessori and Forest School is looking for bright, enthusiastic young educators as well as experienced passionate early childhood devoted individuals for our Montessori Toddler Program.

Harmony Montessori & Forest School is growing. We are a private Montessori preschool founded in 2004 that serves children between 18 months - 6 years of age at our unique and stunning waterfront property at the Richardson Bay Audubon Society, providing tremendous indoor-outdoor learning opportunities in a nature-rich environment. Harmony enjoys a reputation for excellence, a skilled faculty, hard-working team and a supportive parent body.

Grounded in the wisdom of Maria’s Montessori’s prepared environment philosophy, and embracing some of the Waldorf approach of using the work of the home as curriculum, Harmony offers a professional environment that is collaborative, with an emphasis on positive thinking. Laughter and loyalty are appreciated.

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills.

Harmony teachers are committed to:

  • Cultivating children’s initiative, self-confidence and kindness
  • Offering experiential opportunities that engage children with nature and stewardship
  • Being dependable, responsive and nurturing
  • Cultivating consistency, order and a thoughtfully prepared environment
  • Acknowledging diverse spiritual and cultural traditions
  • Fun!

The ideal applicant embraces a growth mindset, is receptive to feedback and coaching, and enjoys working collaboratively within a team. We are looking for teachers who bring joy and gratitude to their work.

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Comfort and capability with children, ages 18 months through 3 years
  • Respect, attentiveness and calm
  • Interest in and warmth for young children
  • Creativity and self-direction
  • Possession of (or willingness to acquire) 12 units of early childhood credit
Job Description:

Patience and good communication skills with colleagues and families are required qualities for this position.

Salary will be competitive, based on training, credentials, and experience. Early Childhood and/or Montessori training is welcome but not required. Benefits include access to 401k, and we are closed for the holidays. We are also happy to support continued education in ECE and Montessori.
