Controls Design Engineer

A well-established, premier manufacturer is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to join their electrical design engineering team. The role will spend roughly 40% of the time on PLC programming and 20% on electrical design and reports to the Electrical Design Engineering Manager.

• Partner with a Senior Engineer to learn product and processes
• Program programmable logic controllers using Allen Bradley PLC platforms
• Manage multiple engineering projects and partner with mechanical engineers to complete machine design concepts
• Design control panels and electrical hardware
• Once trained, manage 1-6 design projects at a time
• Create bill of materials for design projects
• Make customized modifications to established designs
• Assist sales and customer service with technical electrical expertise related to customer needs and quotations
• Communicate with customers on equipment needs and preferences
• Other duties directed by management

• Minimum of an Associate's degree; a Bachelor's degree highly preferred
• At least three years of experience performing similar functions at an OEM or machine integrator
• Proficiency in PLC programming
• Experience in electrical design, including panels and panel layout
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

This position is required to be on site Monday-Friday. Candidates are preferred to be local to the Tiffin, Ohio area. There is no relocation package available at this time.
