ENGINEER, PROCESS (Salary Exempt) – In‑Person/Onsite in Tiffin, Ohio

In this position, you will be part of the Process Engineering team to determine the path for our engineered components and assemblies to be manufactured and/or procured with a focus on quality, capability, efficiency, delivery, and cost. You will define the operations, activities, fixturing, tools, and equipment required for fabrication, assembly, machining, or outsourcing of components and assemblies from parts drawings, specifications, and other engineering materials.

You will plan the sequence of operations, forecast standard time requirements, create routings, and prepare operational work instructions.

Process Engineering also reviews internal manufacturing cost to assure our targets align with our products and manufacturing techniques. You will work closely with the inspection department to ensure purchased parts meet quality and print specifications. When deviations are identified, you will communicate with vendors and collaborate with engineering to determine disposition.

Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
  • In‑depth knowledge of machining and fabrication processes, tooling, techniques, and estimating.
  • Promote safety and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ability to communicate throughout the organization accurate planned operations and work instructions.
  • Work in a team environment and as an individual contributor with little supervision.
  • Utilize our ERP system to plan and coordinate routing activities for each component or assembly.
  • Ability to read blueprints with a thorough understanding of GD&T and its application.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PPT).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • In‑depth technical knowledge of National Machinery products, equipment, and processes.
  • Solid Works 3D software or equivalent software experience.
  • Root cause analysis.
  • Prior engineering, machining, fabrication, inspection, and/or quality experience.
  • Fixture and jig design.
  • Mastercam software experience.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
  • Office and shop environment.
  • Steel‑toed safety shoes and safety glasses required.
