A well-established, premier manufacturer is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to join their electrical design engineering team and will spend 40% of the time on PLC programming and 20% of the time on electrical design.

This role reports to the Electrical Design Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Partner with a Senior Engineer to learn product and processes
• Programmable logic controller programming using Allen Bradley PLC platforms
• Manage multiple engineering projects and partner with mechanical engineers to complete machine design concepts
• Responsible for control panel and electrical hardware design
• Once trained, manage 1-6 design projects at a time
• Make design changes to equipment designs
• Create bill of materials for design projects
• Make customized modifications to established designs
• Assist sales and customer service department with technical electrical expertise related to customer needs and quotations
• Communicate with customers on equipment needs and preferences
• Other duties directed by management

Candidates should enjoy working at a desk 90% of the time and being a contributor within a team-oriented environment. Qualified candidates will be detail oriented, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work on multiple projects at a time. REQUIREMENTS for the Controls Design Engineer:

• Minimum of an Associate's degree; a Bachelor's degree is highly preferred
• Depending on education, at least three years of experience performing similar functions at an OEM or machine integrator
• PLC programming
• Electrical design, including panels and panel layout
