An established original equipment manufacturer is seeking a Project Engineer to join its project management team. In this role, you'll manage capital equipment (Cap Ex) projects from start to finish, working closely with production, operations, and customers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. You'll report to a Project Team Lead and collaborate within a family-oriented, team-focused culture.
Whatyou'll do
- Manage and lead up to 20 Cap Ex projects simultaneously at various stages
- Serve as the liaison between production and customers regarding project status
- Oversee budgets and manage project timelines and scopes
- Forecast projects and document and communicate changes
- Ensure inspection and verification of equipment meets customer project scope
- Negotiate change orders, project terms, and scheduling with customers and operations
- Update customers on project status, holding them accountable to scope or educating them on additional costs
- Complete all project documentation and attend project meetings with sales and engineering
- Oversee equipment installs and assist with final inspection oversight
- Represent the company professionally to build and foster client relationships
- Perform other duties as directed by management
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Experience managing Cap Ex projects in general manufacturing or at an OEM (original equipment manufacturer)
- Experience overseeing project timelines and budgets
- Experience reading blueprints/part drawings
- Ability to forecast projects
- Mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Additional post-secondary education preferred
- Ideally 3-5 years of experience in a similar project engineering position
- ERP experience
- Skilled trades background
- Working knowledge of PLCs
- Fabrication or paint background
