SUMMARY:
The psychologist will be responsible for studying mental processes and behavior, assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders
- Conduct psychological assessments and provide treatment for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes.
- Help clients define goals and plan actions to achieve personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.
- Monitor clients’ progress through regular meetings or sessions.
- Teach classes, conduct research, and publish findings to increase understanding of mental, emotional, and behavioral states and disorders.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for patients.
- Stay up to date with developments in psychology by attending professional workshops, reading professional publications, etc.
- Proven work experience as a psychologist.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build trust with a wide range of people.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities.
- Experience in counseling individuals, families, couples, or groups.
- Doctorate in Psychology.
- Licensed to practice psychology in the state.
- Willing to work beyond normal working hours and during disastrous circumstances, as needed.
- Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families, and outside agencies and to collaborate cooperatively with other associates.
- Ability to present to groups.
- Ability to remain calm under stress.
- Ability to communicate with local staff, remote staff, and outside agencies.
- Understand, comply with, and promote rules regarding residents’ rights.
- Maintain an orderly, confidential, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all Company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Practice universal precautions at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
