SUMMARY:

The psychologist will be responsible for studying mental processes and behavior, assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct psychological assessments and provide treatment for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes.
  • Help clients define goals and plan actions to achieve personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.
  • Monitor clients’ progress through regular meetings or sessions.
  • Teach classes, conduct research, and publish findings to increase understanding of mental, emotional, and behavioral states and disorders.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for patients.
  • Stay up to date with developments in psychology by attending professional workshops, reading professional publications, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven work experience as a psychologist.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of various therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities.
  • Experience in counseling individuals, families, couples, or groups.
  • Doctorate in Psychology.
  • Licensed to practice psychology in the state.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT:
  • Willing to work beyond normal working hours and during disastrous circumstances, as needed.
  • Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families, and outside agencies and to collaborate cooperatively with other associates.
  • Ability to present to groups.
  • Ability to remain calm under stress.
  • Ability to communicate with local staff, remote staff, and outside agencies.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Understand, comply with, and promote rules regarding residents’ rights.
  • Maintain an orderly, confidential, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Practice universal precautions at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
