Internship Summary

The Alumni and Advancement Intern will assist with the development and execution of programs and events that enhance the donor and alumni experience as well as their engagement. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in event planning, program development, social media, database management, fundraising, Giving Day coordination, and alumni/donor/community relations. The intern will collaborate closely with the Director of Annual Giving as well as the entire Alumni and Advancement Team.

The intern will work approximately 8–10 hours a week with additional hours for alumni and donor events, for a total of 150 hours throughout the semester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Willing and able to participate in office events on and off campus, if needed.
  • Develop and manage targeted Facebook and social media ad campaigns to drive attendance and awareness for Night of Champions.
  • Promote and generate advanced bids for auction items leading up to the event through strategic marketing and outreach for Night of Champions.
  • Support email marketing and social media posts to maximize engagement and ticket sales for Night of Champions.
  • Track and report on campaign metrics, engagement, and bid activity for Night of Champions.
  • Design compelling graphics and visual content for digital and print promotion for several events and programs.
  • Compile, verify accuracy, and sort information according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry for our alumni and donor database. Research and obtain further information regarding constituents, if needed.
  • Assist with donor/alumni database projects, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Assist with data entry, document preparation, and other clerical tasks (donor packets, donor thank you letters, first‑time donor mailing, etc.).
  • Comply with data integrity, privacy, and security policies.
  • Assist with engagement and communication with various constituents in a variety of ways.
  • Other tasks/responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be sophomore standing in terms of credit hours (28 or more credit hours).
  • Be able to utilize 3 credit hours of internship course towards graduation requirements.
  • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Be enrolled at Tiffin University full‑time during the semester of the internship.
  • Register the internship for academic credit, if selected for the position.
  • Have no recent (within one year) or outstanding student conduct issues.
  • Your major or coursework must align with the internship learning outcomes.
Internship Program Details

This internship is part of the Dragon Internship Program, an on‑campus internship program, offering competitive internships for the Fall 2026 semester. All Dragon Internship Program internships offer a 150‑hour internship that will qualify for academic credit (dependent on major, Faculty Mentor approvals, and internship duties). The internships will begin around September 1st and end around December 4th, although certain departments may have a slightly different start or end date.
