About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing behavioral health team. This position plays a critical role in providing nursing care to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct nursing assessments, medical screenings, and ongoing monitoring of patient health status.
- Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of intoxication, withdrawal, and medical complications.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, assessments, and patient progress.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary treatment teams to coordinate care.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, health concerns, and recovery support.
- Monitor and document medication effectiveness, side effects, and patient responses.
- Assist with laboratory testing, medication reconciliation, and coordination with pharmacies.
- Identify and report changes in patient condition in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure adherence to state regulations, accreditation standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
- Active Ohio LPN or RN license in good standing.
- Experience working in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification services, psychiatric care, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong assessment, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of withdrawal management, medication administration, and patient monitoring preferred.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- BSN preferred for RN candidates.
