Licensed Practical Nurse

Large campus, walking required. Facility houses adults and accepts children as new patients. May be exposed to unpredictable resident actions. Administers nursing care within the scope of practice as directed by a registered nurse or licensed physician. Administers oxygen, applies sterile dressings, and assists with procedures such as catheter insertion and gastrostomy tube reinsertion. Observes, documents, and reports patient conditions, including medication reactions and treatment responses.

Provides general nursing care and programming assistance, taking patient vital signs and assisting with daily living activities. Repositions patients and responds to patient alarms. Orders medication and medical supplies, cleans the nursing station, and performs clerical tasks. Provides oversight and training to lower-level direct care staff in nursing care. Participates in staff meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings as assigned.
