PALFINGER is searching for an In-House Service Technician Apprentice to join our team at our Tiffin, OH location. In this entry level role, you will assist experienced technicians while learning how to troubleshoot and perform repairs on articulating cranes, truck‑mounted forklifts, bucket trucks and other PALFINGER equipment.

Your Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced technicians with repairs and basic troubleshooting of cranes, forklifts, bucket trucks, aerial platforms, conveyors, trucks, and trailers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance under supervision, including support with Annual DOT inspections and warranty service.
  • Support troubleshooting and repair work for both scheduled and unscheduled service calls.
  • Identify mechanical issues and communicate findings clearly to supervisors.
  • Complete service documentation accurately and on time, including work orders, parts usage, labor, and inventory records.
  • Follow safety regulations, maintain a clean work area, and continuously develop technical skills and knowledge.
Your Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; must be at least 18 years old.
  • Mechanical education, vocational training, or entry-level experience preferred (automotive, diesel, industrial maintenance, or similar).
  • Exposure to cranes, forklifts, or heavy equipment is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems (or willingness to learn); troubleshooting and welding experience are a plus.
  • Basic computer skills with familiarity in Windows applications; ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
  • Ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 75 lbs., standing, bending, etc.) and work in indoor/outdoor environments with typical shop hazards.
