: 1st Shift / Monday thru Friday 6:15am-2:45pm (OT as needed)

Sign On Bonus:$1,000 to be paid out as follows

  • $500 at 90 Days
  • $500 at 180 Days
PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Shipping and Receiving Team Lead is an hourly, hands‑on leadership position responsible for coordinating daily shipping, receiving, and material‑handling activities. This role provides daily direction to forklift operators, supports staffing and work assignments, monitors safety and shipping performance, and serves as a trainer and coach for employees assigned to the area. The Team Lead works with Operations, Production, Customer Service, Quality, and Maintenance to support accurate inventory movement and timely customer shipments while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Promote a zero‑injury culture by reinforcing safe work practices for shipping, receiving, dock, forklift, pedestrian, PPE, load‑stability, and applicable lockout activities.
  • Report injuries, incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, property damage, equipment concerns, and forklift defects; support investigations and corrective actions assigned.
  • Coordinate daily shipping, receiving, and material‑handling workflow based on production schedules, customer priorities, staffing, and equipment availability.
  • Assign daily work, balance workload, coordinate break and absence coverage, lead shift start‑up communication, and communicate priorities or changes to assigned employees.
  • Monitor trailer loading and unloading to support safe practices, shipment accuracy, proper load placement, and protection of materials and finished goods.
  • Verify shipment, receipt, and inventory accuracy, including item identification, quantities, labels, bills of lading, invoices, locations, and required documentation.
  • Ensure raw materials, parts, skids, totes, work‑in‑process, and finished goods are moved to designated locations accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with Production, Customer Service, Quality, Operations, and Maintenance to address shipping priorities, customer‑service risks, material issues, and equipment readiness.
  • Support accurate inventory transactions, location control, cycle counts, physical inventories, and investigation of material or inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records for shipments, receipts, inventory movement, equipment checks, training, and daily area performance using SAP, L2L, and other required business systems.
  • Provide hands‑on support for shipping, receiving, and forklift responsibilities when coverage or operating conditions require it.
  • Train, coach, and mentor forklift operators and employees assigned to shipping and receiving; reinforce standard work, complete required training documentation, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Observe work practices, address concerns in the moment when appropriate, recognize positive performance, and elevate performance or employee‑relations concerns to the Operations Leader.
  • Ensure necessary equipment, supplies, labels, paperwork, trailers, and shipping materials are available to complete scheduled work.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and safe dock, warehouse, and material‑storage areas; support 5S, visual management, and continuous‑improvement efforts.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations to identify, segregate, document, and support disposition of damaged, nonconforming, or incorrectly identified material.
  • Attend required training, meetings, safety activities, and continuous‑improvement events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to coordinate work, communicate expectations, provide constructive coaching, and support employees across the shift.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, peers, leaders, drivers, and other departments.
  • Ability to lead daily communication, adjust priorities, exercise sound judgment, and elevate issues appropriately.
