Position SummaryThe Department of Entomology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure‑track position in row crop integrated pest management with emphasis on cotton. The role is budgeted at 65% research, 30% extension, and 5% service, and is expected to develop a recognized research and extension program, secure external funding, publish high‑impact research, and mentor students.
Responsibilities- Develop a nationally recognized research and extension program in row crop IPM, focusing on cotton.
- Secure competitive external funding and publish high‑impact research.
- Mentor graduate‑ and undergraduate‑students in research.
- Collaborate with the UGA Cotton Team and other state and international partners.
- Communicate research findings to row‑crop producers, extension agents, and stakeholders through traditional and digital media.
- Serve actively in departmental, university service, professional activities, and outreach.
- Ph.D. in Entomology or related life science discipline.
- Post‑doctoral experience of 1–2 years is preferred.
- Strong record in scholarly achievement and excellent communication skills.
- Expertise in integrated pest management theory and practice, including invasive species management, resistance management, applied toxicology, transgenic and molecular approaches, population genetics, landscape ecology, or precision agriculture (remote sensing).
- Ability to engage in multidisciplinary collaboration and achieve externally funded research.
