Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour |
Shift: 6 AM-3:30 PM | Monday-Friday + Saturday as Needed

Staffmark is hiring a Lead Tool and Die Maker to design, build, repair, and maintain precision tooling while supporting high-quality manufacturing operations. Education & Certification Requirements- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or trade school program is preferred.
- Technical training in machining, tooling, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in tool and die making required.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or trade school program is preferred.
- Experience using CAD software for tooling design and modifications.
- Experience programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining EDM equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and models.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, dies, gauges, and fixtures.
- Experience using precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of standard and metric measurement systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and visual accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while supporting team goals.
- Design, build, repair, and modify tooling, dies, gauges, and fixtures.
- Operate Electrical Discharge Machinery (EDM), including programming, setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Use CAD and technical documentation to create or modify tooling designs.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and models to determine project requirements.
- Select appropriate metals and materials based on project specifications.
- Machine, assemble, adjust, and finish tool and die components.
- Use hand tools and machine tools to fabricate precision parts.
- Verify finished part dimensions to ensure specifications are met.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform repairs on manual and progressive dies.
- File, finish, and adjust components to ensure proper fit and function.
- Maintain safe and efficient work practices while meeting production goals.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to work with hand tools, machine tools, and precision equipment.
- Ability to handle metal components and tooling materials.
- Ability to perform detailed visual inspections of parts and tooling.
- Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the work area as needed.
- Ability to follow all safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
