Duties & Responsibilities
  • Fieldwork: 60% of time
  • Lab work: 20% of time
  • Data entry: 20% of time
  • The role involves working on field and lab research projects for Forest Health and Silviculture labs. The position is stationed at the UGA Forest Health Lab on the UGA Tifton Campus. Tasks include fieldwork, data entry in Excel, taking precise field measurements, cataloging and collecting samples, rating insect damage, and may include overnight travel.

    Position Summary

    This position provides support on field and lab research projects, gaining skills in data collection, data entry, and laboratory techniques.

    Qualifications
    • Some undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
    • Interest or familiarity with insects, silviculture, or natural resources.
    Physical Demands

    Work outdoors for extended periods in adverse weather conditions, including extreme humidity and heat, possibly encountering stinging insects and wildlife. Traverse uneven terrain, maintain high data quality. Lift up to 40 lbs. Driving required.
