The Life Safety Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in Tifton, GA, responsible for inspecting and testing fire protection and life safety systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures. Day-to-day tasks include conducting scheduled inspections of systems such as fire sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers, and suppression equipment, documenting findings, and preparing detailed inspection reports. The role involves identifying deficiencies, recommending corrective actions, and communicating results clearly to customers and internal teams.
The inspector collaborates with service technicians, project managers, and customers to ensure systems remain compliant, reliable, and safe. This position also requires maintaining accurate records, following safety protocols, and providing exceptional customer service while representing IFP’s values on job sites.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant fire and building codes, NFPA standards, and local regulations.
- Experience inspecting fire sprinklers, alarm systems, extinguishers, and other life safety equipment, or strong mechanical aptitude with willingness to train.
- Proficiency in completing inspection forms, writing clear reports, and using basic computer and mobile applications.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple inspections and deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Commitment to safety, professionalism, and respectful conduct on customer sites.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for travel to job locations in and around Tifton, GA.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in fire protection, life safety, or related fields (e.g., NICET) are preferred.
- Ability to work on-site, including climbing ladders, lifting moderate loads, and performing inspections in various building environments.
