Position SummaryThe Project Engineer will be responsible for the conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization. The candidate will work under the direction of a Senior Engineer or Project Manager to lead a project team in developing design calculations, detailed drawings, specifications, and other construction documents for power line facilities.
Responsibilities• Create project scope documents.
• Perform finite element design modeling using PLS-CADD software.
• Design structures and foundations, develop loading, framing, foundation, and plan & profile drawing sets.
• Produce staking sheets, sag charts, and other construction exhibits.
• Create material and construction specifications.
• Assist the Project Manager in project planning and execution, including client and stakeholder coordination, training and mentoring of design staff, quality assurance, and oversight of design engineers, drafters, and support staff.
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 6+ years of project and design engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Teamwork ability and commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Ability to meet fast‑paced project schedules.
- Advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principles and applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
- Basic project management execution skills and leadership of design personnel.
- PE license preferred.
- Subject to client‑mandated drug and background checks; occasional travel/driving required.
