Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Inventory Specialist I to support receiving, inventory control, job kitting, and material distribution within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires strong organization, accuracy, communication skills, and sit-down forklift experience. The Inventory Specialist will ensure materials are properly received, stored, tracked, and delivered to production to support on-time operations.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate receiving, material storage, inventory control, and distribution within inventory locations
  • Kit daily work orders per schedule and maintain organization and accuracy of Job Kits
  • Maintain and update the kitting schedule
  • Ensure proper storage methods, labeling, stock identification, and organization of all materials
  • Keep inventory areas orderly, accessible, and compliant with environmental and turnover requirements
  • Dispose of obsolete materials and notify management for MRP adjustments
  • Perform inventory control tasks including cycle counts, stock transactions, and damage documentation
  • Inspect stock for wear or defects and report issues to management
  • Receive deliveries, verify packing slips, transact receipts, print labels, and distribute materials accordingly
  • Support internal teams such as Accounting, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow ISO standards
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Sit-down forklift experience required; ability to obtain forklift certification within 90 days
  • Experience using computer-based MRP/ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to cross-train and support multiple departments
  • Ability to read and follow safety guidelines, MSDS instructions, and material processes
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, and pushing/pulling carts
  • Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing practices a plus
