CNC Lathe Operator
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Lathe Operator who can set up, operate, and support precision machining in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Location: Tigard, OR
Salary: $20-$30/hr doe
Schedule: Full-time;
Weekend Shift | Friday-Sunday 5:00am-5:30pm

- Quality-Driven Work: Use precision measuring tools, engineered drawings, and sound judgment to help produce accurate, high-quality parts.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes by loading programs, tooling, fixtures, and offsets to machine precision components in accordance with inch and metric engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret engineered drawings, machine code, and technical documentation while performing in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and communicate issues related to machining operations, programming errors, material shortages, tooling concerns, and production schedules to ensure efficient workflow and product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support process improvements, corrective actions, waste reduction initiatives, and the optimization of labor, material utilization, and machine performance.
- Maintain accurate production records, labor tracking, inventory monitoring, deburring activities, redline documentation, and a clean, organized, and safe work environment while performing additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with at least 1 year of manufacturing experience; CNC machining experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to set up and operate CNC machines, including loading programs, installing tooling and fixtures, setting tool offsets, and interpreting machine code.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications in decimal and fractional inch measurements, with strong mathematical skills including trigonometry.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances in thousandths, with strong attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, safety awareness, and the ability to handle precision and fragile components.
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive use of hands and arms to operate CNC equipment, handle materials, perform inspections, and complete machining tasks throughout a 12‑hour shift. Must be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and safely work around moving machinery, sharp tools, metal chips, coolants, and other manufacturing hazards while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
