Position Overview
Virtual Employment Specialist (BES2) – Multiple Permanent Positions Available in Tigard Work Source Office. This role provides job seeking support to unemployed Oregonians through multiple communication channels.
Salary & LocationSalary range: $4,519 - $6,276 per month.
Position located in Tigard Work Source Office; travel to other Work Source centers may be required.
What You Will Do- Respond to a high volume of job seeker interactions over phone, video, and messaging.
- Establish strong professional rapport with job seekers, exhibiting empathy and maintaining consistent contact.
- Review job seekers’ documentation for accuracy and completeness and support varying levels of digital literacy.
- Provide comprehensive assessments of work experience, noting barriers to employment.
- Develop individual employment plans to identify goals, objectives, and services necessary to gain employment, including short-term pre-vocational services.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience with request and review of information, documentation, and decision-making.
- Examples include eligibility interviewer, application examiner, unemployment insurance examiner, proctor, information clerk, insurance aide, public counter intake person, employment and claims aide, job placement, recruiter, or related roles.
- Two years of education or equivalent experience; or 45-quarter college credits in a related field.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (or alternate transportation).
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Experience presenting information and delivering communication to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual language skills are preferred but not required.

Employees may be required to travel to other Work Source center offices throughout the state and are expected to have a valid driver’s license. The position is not remote or hybrid.
