7:30am - 4:00pm (Monday - Friday)

Summary

Performs diverse human resource (HR) functions for the NH Veterans Home (NHVH) by coordinating and assuming administrative and technical responsibility to support the directors/administrators/managers in areas of HR management, wellness, benefits, and payroll. Supports HR operations by collecting, verifying, and distributing information throughout the agency on any changes to HR processes and actively seeking to improve the work environment through analysis and development of communication strategies while ensuring compliance with personnel rules, agency directives and collective bargaining agreement.

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/

Experience:

Associate's degree and 1 year of experience OR equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience in Personnel Management, business administration, payroll or human resources.

License/Certification:
Valid driver's license and/or have access to transportation for use in statewide travel.

Trainee Option

Candidates with an equivalent combination of 2+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in "trainee status" for this position.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the implementation of wellness, benefit, and payroll functions for all employees at NHVH in collaboration with managers, HR team and Division of Personnel. Processes new hire benefits and provides group and/or one-on-one benefit meetings with all employees as needed. Manages employment benefits data by tracking employee changes and movement.

Prepares documentation and processes HR transactions for a multitude of employee-related and position-related changes including but not limited to hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, terminations, and other related assignment changes, ensuring all prerequisite requirements have been fulfilled prior to submission. Coordinates and communicates with the Division of Personnel and the Payroll Officer to assure proper processing of compensation.…
