6:45 am – 3:15 pm, every other weekend (additional $2.00/hour)

Summary

Registered Nurses I‑III at the New Hampshire Veterans Home perform general nursing duties, ensuring quality care for residents. Duties include medication administration, care planning, training staff, and maintaining documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • RN I:
    Graduation from a recognized nursing program and current RN license in NH.
  • RN II:
    Graduation from a recognized nursing program, one year experience in a residential or long‑term care setting, current RN license in NH.
  • RN III:
    Bachelor’s in nursing or related field and one year experience in long‑term care, or associate degree plus two years experience; current RN license in NH, CPR certification, and specialty certification in psychiatric/mental health, gerontological nursing, wound care, or related specialty.
Responsibilities
  • Implement nursing process techniques, including evaluation, care, and treatment plan execution.
  • Observe, record, and report patient signs, symptoms, and progress using the facility’s documentation system, and recommend modifications.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, health professionals, and other disciplines to meet treatment goals.
  • Perform specialized tasks such as oxygen tank exchange, medication preparation, and equipment verification.
  • Participate in therapeutic activities, daily living assistance, and resident care goal planning.
  • Oversee licensed practical nurses and support staff to ensure consistent service quality.
  • Provide in‑service training to nursing personnel and assist with new staff orientation.
  • Maintain competency in CPR techniques and comply with department policies.
