Mushkegowuk Development Corporation (MDC) is seeking an experienced and highly organized Finance & Administration Officer tooversee the day-to-day financial administration of MDC and its subsidiaries,including MDC Supply LP and Great North Builder's Supplies. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance & Administration Officer plays a keyrole in maintaining accurate financial records, coordinating payroll and administrative functions, supporting the financial management of corporateprojects, and contributing to budgeting, reporting and the overall operational effectiveness of the Corporation.
The ideal candidate will bring strongbookkeeping and financial administration skills, sound judgment, attention todetail, and the ability to work independently across multiple business entities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain accurate day-to-day financial records for MDC and its subsidiaries using
Sage 50, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger entries. - Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and support year-end financial statements, external audits and compilation engagements.
- Assist with preparation, monitoring and reporting of corporate, operating,capital and project budgets, including expenditures and budget variances.
- Maintain financial administration for corporate projects, including fundingagreements, contracts, project budgets, payment schedules, receivables and supporting documentation.
- CoordinateCRA filings, HST reporting, remittances and other government compliance requirements.
- Supportfunding applications and prepare financial reporting and claims required by government and other funders.
- SupportHR administration, including recruitment, onboarding and maintenance of confidential employee records.
- Post-secondarydiploma or degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or arelated discipline, or an
- equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum2–4 years of progressively responsible experience in financial administration, accounting or bookkeeping.
- Experience with payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with Sage 50 or comparable accounting software and Microsoft Office,particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational, analytical and time-management skills with the ability tomanage multiple priorities and work
- with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrateddiscretion and ability to maintain confidentiality when handlingfinancial, payroll and personnel information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Abilityto speak Cree and/or experience working with Mushkegowuk communities is considered an asset.
