Manager of Community Programs - Full-Time Permanent

Timmins and Area Women in Crisis (TAWC) is a dynamic, community-based feminist organization, which provides services on intimate partner abuse and sexual violence to women and their children in the Timmins area. TAWC works within an integrated feminist, anti-racist, anti-oppression framework. The agency administers a sexual assault centre, an emergency shelter as well as second stage housing to abused women and their children.

of Community Programs
. The Manager of Community Programs is responsible to the Executive Director for the overall supervision and coordination of community-based programs and services — including both administrative coordination and clinical supervision of front‑line staff working in areas such as counselling, outreach, family court, and child witness programs.

Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Women’s Studies, or related discipline) and/or equivalent experience
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with a professional regulatory body (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO, CPO) strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in counselling, trauma‑informed care, or crisis intervention, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision or mentorship to staff supporting survivors of gender‑based violence
  • Knowledge of, familiarity with and experience working in the area of violence against women and children, preferably in a leadership capacity
  • Solid understanding of the social service sector and ability to work/advocate within this system
  • Understanding of and commitment to working within an intersectional feminist, anti‑racism, anti‑oppression framework understanding the social, economic and political context of woman abuse
  • Ability to represent and promote program areas in a manner consistent with the philosophies of TAWC
  • Strong analytical program evaluation, problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, coordinating, training and mentoring skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis management, decision making and intervention
  • Ability to promote teamwork and strength in a staff team
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills
  • Knowledge of administrative skills including internet and computer proficiency (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours
  • Must undergo a criminal records check
Main Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all community-based direct service programs, including counselling, outreach, family court, child witness and the volunteer program
  • Provide clinical supervision to counselling and crisis support staff to ensure high‑quality, trauma‑informed, and consistent service delivery
  • Offer clinical guidance and consultation on complex client cases, ethical considerations, and best practices in feminist counselling
  • Facilitate regular individual and group clinical supervision sessions to promote reflective practice, professional growth, and client‑centered care
  • Develop, implement, evaluate and update program policies, procedures and protocols
  • Maintain health, fire, medical and emergency procedures to ensure day‑to‑day safety of staff, volunteers, clients and visitors
  • Train, supervise and provide support to community program staff
  • Assess ongoing staff training needs and provide necessary internal and external training
  • Ensure that staff are supported appropriately through the use of debriefing, supervisions, on‑call support, etc.
  • Promote respectful communication and teamwork among the community program staff
  • Assess and evaluate community program staff on an ongoing basis
  • Actively participate on committees, both internal and external to the agency
  • Complete all necessary reports regularly including compiling statistical information quarterly
