We are IAMGOLD, a Canadian-based gold mining company with operations and development projects across North America and West Africa. With flagship operations such as the C   Gold Mine in Ontario—one of Canada’s largest and most technologically advanced gold mines—we  not just mining gold; we  shaping the future of mining.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geology Co-op Student to join our team for an 8-month work term. This opportunity will provide hands-on experience in a dynamic mining environment, allowing the student to apply their academic knowledge to real-world geological challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with our geology team to support exploration, production and data management initiatives. This role will be based at our Côté Gold mine site (Gogama, Ontario) on a 14 on, 14 off rotational schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in geological data collection, sampling, and core logging to support exploration and production activities.
  • Conduct field mapping, sampling, and geological assessments as required.
  • Support grade control by monitoring ore and waste delineation under the supervision of experienced geologists.
  • Assist in data entry, validation, and database management to ensure accuracy in geological reporting.
  • Utilize software tools for geological modeling, mapping, and data analysis.
  • Participate in geotechnical and hydrogeological monitoring programs.
  • Contribute to safety and environmental initiatives by following company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation as required.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Geology, Earth Sciences, or related post-secondary degree program.
  • Must be registered in a recognized co-op or internship program.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Positive attitude with strong enthusiasm for Geology and Mining Operations.
  • Ability to work in field conditions.

What we offer:

Salary Range: $20.00-$24.00 an hour. The final offer is determined based on your individual skills, qualifications, and competencies and aligned with our commitment to internal equity.
