Geology Summer Student - Exploration

We’re actively searching for a Geology Summer Student to join our Exploration Geological Team this summer. The student will assist the team by performing field and technical tasks to ensure successful execution of exploration projects, learning important mineral exploration techniques in an Archean geological environment within the Abitibi Subprovince.

• Provide geological field support to the exploration geology team and exploration programs in the field, in the core shack, or other locations, including geological mapping, prospecting, and geochemical sampling.
• Be prepared for traversals at the start of each day and assist the supervising Geologist in field preparations and daily planning.
• Ensure FLRA and JHA are completed and vehicle circle checks are performed.
• Assist with field sampling of outcrops, including chip–channel sampling with rock hammers and portable rock saws; complete geological descriptions of samples as needed.
• Review and maintain rock saws and related equipment to ensure it is in good working order; report any equipment issues to the supervising Geologist.
• Ensure all correct PPE are available and used; take all safety precautions to protect people and the environment; keep spill kits available.
• Assist in aspects of the drill program when requested, including drill core geotechnical measurements, S.G. measurements, and moving of drill core.
• Participate in core shack technician activities to assist the geologist and technician.
• Assist with field activities related to drilling, including drill hole spotting, drill site inspections, drill trail inspections, and other related tasks.
• May be asked to participate in other company projects.

• Registration in a geology / geological engineering program at university or college.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Good health and ability to complete the required physical tasks in an outdoor environment.
• A sense of urgency and focus.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, GIS: ArcGIS) are beneficial.
• Previous summer student experience in mineral exploration is an asset, but not required.
• Previous geological work as a summer student is beneficial.

• Field‑based work at our Côté Exploration camp on a rotational basis; travel within the property may involve driving up to one hour from the central camp to field area(s).

Salary Range: $19.88 - $29.45 per hour.
