Core Logging Geologist
Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex sits approximately 20 kilometres northeast of Timmins and consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralisation is associated with the Porcupine‑Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow‑vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to the surface via a modern one‑thousand‑eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty‑eight hundred tonnes per day.
The Timmins West mine is approximately 18 kilometres west of Timmins, Ontario, one of the world’s most prolific gold camps. Mineralisation is associated with the Porcupine‑Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Timmins West mine comprises the Timmins deposit, the Thunder Creek deposit, and the 144 Gap deposit. All three deposits are interconnected by underground drifts.
About the OpportunityWe are hiring a Core Logging Geologist to join our Exploration Office in Timmins, ON on a 12‑month contract
. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day.
In this role, you will assist the underground diamond drill group primarily logging core for the Bell Creek and Timmins West mine sites and various regional exploration projects. You may also be required to assist with creating diamond drill hole layouts, entering daily drill statistics, and sectional interpretations of the targeted zones.
Compensation: $38.00 – $43.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Vacancy Status: Existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible.
Relocation to the Timmins area is required. This is not a camp‑based position.

- Must either be a PGO member or be eligible to apply for PGO or GIT membership in Ontario.
- 1–3 years’ experience working on diamond drill projects, conducting a variety of duties to assist the exploration/mine geologist.
- Familiar with logging, sampling of drill core and core‑handling procedures.
- Experience using computers and Microsoft Office.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
