Anishnawbe G’Zhiitoonegamic (A’Gic), meaning “Peoples Place of Building”, is an indigenous women-led social enterprise located at 300 Archer Drive in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The enterprise offers a transformative solution to the housing crisis facing Indigenous and Northern communities. Emerging from the Keepers of the Circle and grounded in Indigenous values – A’Gic provides low-carbon, energy-efficient modular homes that are not only affordable and climate-resilient but also culturally grounded and community-informed.

The Millwright and Maintenance Technician reports to the General Plant Manager and works within a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. This position supports factory operations, equipment maintenance, and production departments to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position based on-site in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, and may require flexibility during commissioning, ramp‑up, or maintenance periods. The starting salary will be determined based on experience, and the start date for this position will be discussed further during the interview process.

• Post‑secondary education in Industrial Maintenance, Millwright (433A), Instrumentation Mechanical Technician, or a related trade.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.
• Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical and production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience working in an Indigenous workplace and knowledge of Indigenous cultures and communities is considered a strong asset.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

• Install, maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Support equipment commissioning, start‑up, and production ramp‑up activities.
• Execute and maintain a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose equipment issues and perform timely repairs to ensure operational continuity.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to support manufacturing goals.
