Join Agnico Eagle as a Core Technician at the Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON, ensuring accurate processing and sampling of diamond drill core. Uphold safety and environmental standards while supporting the Geology Department.
The Core Technician role, reporting to the Exploration Supervisor, involves critical tasks like cutting and bagging core samples. Candidates will work closely with geologists and contractors to execute projects efficiently. This position emphasizes Agnico Eagle’s core values of safety, respect, and commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose machinery and equipment for efficient operation
• Load and organize drill core from various locations
• Accurately prepare and cut core samples
• Maintain organizational documentation and inventory
• Ensure proper use of PPE and tools for tasks
Requirements:
• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Previous experience with drill core handling
• Strong communication and literacy skills
• Physically able to lift over 55 lbs
