Apprentice Powerline Technician Position

Join Valard Construction as a Powerline Technician Apprentice in Timmins, ON, and start your journey towards certification. Work in a hands-on, unionized environment focusing on safety and electrical expertise.

We seek apprentices registered in Ontario’s Apprenticeship program, ready to support Journeyperson Powerline Technicians. This role involves on-the-job training in maintaining and installing electrical distribution systems, requiring climbing and the proper handling of energized lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Journey persons while logging certification hours

• Climb and maintain electrical structures and equipment

• Connect conductors and install power infrastructure

• Handle energized line work with safety gear

• Install underground facilities and equipment

Requirements:

• Enrollment in an Ontario Powerline Technician Apprenticeship program

• A valid Driver's License with a good driving record

• Prepared to work away from home and different shifts

• Awareness of trade safety measures

• Must reside locally or be able to commute
