We are seeking a Dental Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you verify insurance, monitor accounts to identify outstanding payments and communicate with clients regarding the collection of those funds. Contact insurance companies for outstanding claims, the ideal candidate has excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Responsibilities- Insurance Verification
- Review accounts to discover overdue payments
- Research client information and historical data on accounts
- Communicate with clients regarding overdue accounts
- Collect payments and issue refunds
- Maintain accurate documentation of account status and collection efforts
- Report on collection activity and present to management
- High school diploma/GED required, a college degree is preferred
- Previous experience as a Billing Specialist or in a similar position
- Understanding of collection techniques
- Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, and computer databases
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Joyful Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, formerly known as Fredric Tatel and Associates is one of the oldest established pediatric dental practices in the southwest suburbs. Dr. McDonald was an associate at Fredric Tatel and Associates and the practice was transitioned to her in February of 2017. Dr. McDonald was selected because of her ability to provide patients with the same level of care.
She is a skilled dentist and a caring person with the qualifications and the desire to continue the practice in a highly professional manner.
