Registered Nurse – Tinley Park – Pulmonary Medicine Overview

Full‑time; 40 hours per week.

Hours:

Monday‑Friday; 8:00 am‑5:00 pm.

Location:

Tinley Park. Travel required to Elmhurst, Joliet, Westmont, Naperville, Winfield as needed.

The base pay range is $27.00–$38.50 per hour (actual pay may vary by skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity). Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.

• Under general supervision, provide high‑quality support to physicians in meeting the medical needs of patients.
• Escort patients to and from examination rooms, prepare them for physicians, take vital signs, record medical history and symptoms, ensure medical charts/lab test results are available and complete.
• Perform telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, pharmacy calls, and may assist by setting up appointments or arranging hospital tests or admissions.
• Administer immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed; record and document all such activities in the chart.
• Assist physician with procedures as necessary.
• Clean and stock all patient examination rooms; clean and prepare instruments for procedures; keep a list of needed medical supplies.
• Complete paperwork such as ordering lab tests, x‑rays, school or work notes, etc.
• Clean and sterilize equipment; check and restock medication cabinet as necessary.
• Respond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient.
• Report all test results to the patient as directed by the physician.
• Perform OSHA controls as required; assist in performing narcotic count.
• Perform other projects and duties as related to department objectives.
• Must be able to get along with others, be a team player, accept constructive criticism and follow work rules.
• Utilize current nursing practices to provide patient care while focusing on the needs of the patient and exemplifying service excellence, care, concern, respect, and cooperation. Act as patient advocate by being the initial contact for patient‑related issues.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Current Illinois RN licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Prefer a minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a clinical or hospital setting; new graduates may be considered under specific circumstances.
