Assistant Manager in Training – Gas N Wash
Lead the customer‑service and operational activities of a Gas N Wash store under the guidance of the General Manager. The role is designed to develop leadership skills and prepare for future management responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Monitor store activities to ensure transactions follow proper procedures and maximize customer service.
- Handle escalated customer concerns and emergencies in the General Manager’s absence, resolving issues while following company guidelines.
- Train employees on federal, state, and local regulations, especially regarding age‑restricted product sales.
- Enforce company policies and the Operations Manual, maintaining compliance with uniform, personal appearance, and service standards.
- Provide support to the store beyond scheduled hours, ensuring reliable backup coverage when unavailable.
- Supervise minor maintenance tasks, follow repair procedures, and keep work orders updated.
- Respond quickly to all emergencies to protect customer and employee safety, notifying appropriate personnel.
- Maintain knowledge of sales responsibilities, including food focus, inventory, vendor relations, and engagement tactics.
- Ensure promotional signage and displays are updated per company guidelines.
- Train associates on food‑preparation procedures, presenting and maintaining stock levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, managing on‑hand quantities and refilling displays as needed.
- Demonstrate a high value for Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) initiatives in all tasks.
- Integrate HES into daily job performance, sustaining a safe environment for all.
- Train employees to order merchandise and products accurately.
- Complete all necessary store reports and paperwork accurately and timely.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Education
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Retail experience is a plus.
- Completion of required training program.
- Skills
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with SAP functions.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
- Understanding of store operations, profit & loss statements, and corporate business plans.
- Knowledge of retail transaction systems and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, twisting, lifting 5–50 pounds, and standing for full shifts.
- Adaptability to a varied shift schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and travel to multiple locations.
- Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to Gas N Wash locations for training.
