First-year drain service technicians can expect top pay, earning $55,000 on average, with pay increasing quickly with experience to an average yearly income between $65,000 and $85,000. Roto-Rooter provides an initial 8‑week training program, with continued training available for those who wish to pursue a journeyman plumber’s license.

• Use your skills to provide solutions to sewer and drain problems.
• Diagnose problems and provide cost estimates to close the sale.
• Unclog and clean sewers and drains for the customer using Roto-Rooter equipment and tools.
• Document estimates and invoices, both in writing and on a provided smartphone.
• Collect payment and move on to the next service call.

• A valid driver’s license.
• Effective communication skills.
• A mechanical aptitude is desirable, though prior experience is not necessary.
