Service Technicians - gas detection

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Service Technicians for an immediate hire in Tinley Park, IL.

Long-term opportunity with stable hours, hands-on technical work, and room to grow!

• PAY: $20-$25/hour (based upon experience)
• HOURS: 8:00 am - 4:30pm
• SCHEDULE: Expected work will be Monday-Friday; approximately 40 hours/week
• START DATE: ASAP
• DURATION: Temp to hire

Job Description:

Service Technicians will be responsible for performing service, repair, calibration, and rental support on gas detection and safety protection products. This role supports customers and channel partners by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining gas detection devices, SCBA equipment, fall protection products, and safety lanyards.

Adherence to safety, housekeeping, and quality standards is required at all times. Candidates will also be expected to meet productivity goals and support cost containment efforts by minimizing waste.

Qualifications:

• Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting and repair skills
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
• Experience in a repair service position preferred (electronics, instrumentation, or safety equipment)
• Experience with gas detection instrumentation, SCBA, fall protection products, or related safety equipment is highly preferred
• Ability to inspect, repair, calibrate, and assemble gas detection devices and related equipment
• Familiarity with electronic instrumentation or technical repair work preferred
• Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to maintain service records and process repair documentation
• Must be able to safely use hand and power tools and PPE
• Must be able to perform job duties requiring standing, crouching, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs., and occasional elevated work

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Associate’s degree in Electronics or related technical field preferred
• Equivalent work experience in electronic instrumentation may be considered
• Military training or 2+ years of experience servicing gas detection instrumentation, SCBA, or fall protection products is a plus
• At least 6 months of electronics repair experience preferred
• Certifications such as R.I.T.E., C.A.R.E., or F.I.R.S.T. are a plus
• Experience with SAP platform a plus

Additional Requirements:

• Must have standard electrical hand tools
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site
• Drug screen and background check required
• Ability to maintain inventory, rental, and demo equipment as needed
• Ability to process service orders and documentation using company systems
