Looking for an estimator who can own the full journey. from first bid to final contract, on some of the region's most complex heavy underground utility projects?
We're a well-established, growing infrastructure and construction firm seeking a Senior Estimator to lead cost estimating and project management for large-scale heavy underground water resources and mechanical construction projects. This role goes beyond number-crunching, you'll shape project scope, drive strategy from bid to execution, and work directly with clients and contractors to bring critical infrastructure projects to life.
What you'll own:- Developing accurate, detailed cost estimates on large, complex heavy construction projects
- Preparing and analyzing material and quantity take-offs
- Reviewing bid documents, drawings, specifications, and commercial terms
- Building and maintaining full Project Management Plans — scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and change control
- Preparing bid proposals and scopes of work, and driving them through to signed contracts
- Partnering closely with clients, contractors, and third-party providers throughout project development
- Estimating and project management experience in heavy construction, specifically underground utilities (gas, water, sanitary, steam, or mechanical piping)
- Strong understanding of underground water resources: distribution and transmission mains, pump stations, treatment systems, and storage tanks
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid or similar bidding software
- Strong Excel skills and sharp attention to detail
- Solid grasp of the full utility project lifecycle — from feasibility and design through construction, startup, and transfer to operations
- Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Competitive salary: $125,000–$190,000 (based on experience)
