Payroll Specialist —

VNA Health Group is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing while providing excellent support to employees and partnering across the organization to improve payroll efficiency and automation.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize ADP WFN payroll system to process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 2,500 hourly and salaried employees.
- Ensure all payroll data is complete, accurate, and processed timely in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Analyze payroll data and investigate variances prior to payroll processing to ensure accuracy.
- Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries, providing clear and professional support.
- Maintain accurate employee personal, tax, and payroll information within the payroll system.
- Partner with external vendors to administer employee retirement savings plans.
- Support cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, IT, and vendors) with reporting, analysis, and special payroll related projects.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
- Support payroll audits and compliance efforts, as needed.
- 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a large, multi-state payroll environment.
- Hands-on experience with ADP WFN payroll system (required).
- Strong knowledge of US payroll operations, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and federal and payroll taxes.
- Knowledge of US labor law, payroll, and Fringe benefits and Cafeteria Plans.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience supporting payroll for a high-volume employee population. Healthcare company experience a plus.
- Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in payroll automation and process enhancement.
In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $65,000 to USD $110,000. When determining an offer, VNA Health Group considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add-on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
